St. Joseph's College believes that true success is not just about winning medals. It is about 'Labore et Virtute' - Labour and Virtue. This means working hard and being a good person. The historic North Block of our school, which has stood for over 100 years, has seen many generations of Josephians learn this lesson. They learn that helping a teammate who falls in a race is as important as winning. They discover that sharing knowledge in the library is as valuable as getting the top score. This is the 'Green and White Spirit': a community where everyone supports each other to become their best self.

Follow-up Questions:

He had more time to read books and develop his hobby, football. As a member of your primary school's football and badminton teams, how will you use this freedom at Wah Yan to develop your talents and, at the same time, be a responsible student?"


Group Activity: Build the Tallest Tower

Task: "Your group has some paper cups and three pieces of string of different lengths. Without touching the cups with your hands, you must use only the strings to build the tallest possible tower in 5 minutes. This task requires teamwork, planning, and creative problem-solving. After the task, please share one difficulty your group faced and how you solved it together."

"Yes, I remember a piano competition when I was in Primary 4. I had won a gold medal before, so I was very confident and didn't practice as hard. During the performance, I was nervous and forgot a part of the music. I only got a merit award and I was very disappointed. From this experience, I learned that past success doesn't guarantee future success. It taught me the importance of being humble and always trying my best, no matter what. This experience will help me at Wah Yan because I know I cannot be lazy. Even if I am good at something, I must keep practicing and learning to become better. It shows that being 'open to growth' means I have to work hard all the time."
