Why this is asked: This two-part question tests fundamental English skills and personal maturity. Part A (Reading) assesses pronunciation, fluency, and confidence. Part B (Sharing) evaluates listening comprehension and, more importantly, the student's ability to reflect on failure and demonstrate a growth mindset, which is a key value mentioned in the passage and highly prized by SJC.

Strategy:

Reading: Read clearly and at a moderate pace. Pay attention to punctuation. Even if you don't know a word, try your best to pronounce it confidently. The key is smooth delivery.
Answering Q1: The answer is directly in the text. Repeat it clearly: "According to the passage, learning from trying and even from losing is more important than always winning."
Answering Q2: Choose a real, simple example. The STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) is useful. Briefly describe the competition (e.g., a piano competition), explain that you didn't win, describe what you did afterwards (e.g., listened to the winner, asked your teacher for advice), and state the lesson learned (e.g., "I learned that there is always room to improve and that appreciating others' talent is also very important.")
