"My thinking process would be like this: First, I know the area of a trapezoid is (Top Base + Bottom Base) times Height, divided by 2. The total area is (8+16) * 10 / 2 = 120 square cm. I need to create two shapes with an area of 60 square cm each.

When I draw a straight line from the top-left corner to the opposite side, it will create a triangle and another trapezoid. This is complicated.

A simpler way is to first draw a line from the top-left corner to the bottom-right corner. This creates two triangles. The left triangle's area is 16 * 10 / 2 = 80. The right triangle's area is 8 * 10 / 2 = 40. This doesn't work.

So, my line must end on the right slanted side. Let's call the top base 'a' and bottom base 'b'. A line from the top-left corner will create a triangle. The area of the whole shape is 120. To get an area of 60, the base must be (60 * 2) / 10 = 12 cm. So, the line should end on the bottom base, at a point 12 cm from the left corner. This is my logical conclusion."
